Executive Women Network Joins Joy FM Home Affairs to Discuss Mentoring Teens

The Executive Women Network (EWN) was privileged to participate in an insightful discussion on Joy 99.7 FM’s Home Affairs programme on 26th July 2025, on the topic: “Mentoring Our Teens.”

Representing EWN was Janet Sunkwa-Mills, Chairperson of the Executive Committee and Board Member of Executive Women Network, alongside Yvonne Oduro MacCarthy, CSP, Founder and Head Consultant of ICSP. They were joined by two teenagers, Afua Amanobea Addo-Yobo and Ibrahim Hammond Suraiya, who shared their perspectives and experiences on mentorship and personal growth.

The discussion was hosted by renowned broadcaster Edem Knight-Tay, who skillfully guided the conversation around the realities, challenges, and opportunities involved in mentoring teenagers in today’s rapidly changing world.

Key issues discussed during the session included:
– The role of parents, mentors, and communities in raising confident and responsible teens
– Effective communication and relationship-building with young people
– The importance of emotional support, guidance, and positive role models
– Challenges facing teenagers in today’s digital and social environment
– Creating safe spaces for young people to learn, grow, and thrive

EWN remains committed to contributing meaningfully to conversations that impact families, communities, and the development of young people.
