EWN Participates in WEE-Ghana Advocacy Workshop
Date: May 19–20, 2025
Venue: Fiesta Royale Hotel, Accra
Hosted by: WEE-Ghana in collaboration with Netright
Participants: Representatives from the Executive Women Network (EWN)
The Executive Women Network (EWN) was honored to participate in a two-day advocacy training workshop organized by WEE-Ghana in partnership with Netright. The workshop aimed at enhancing the capacity of civil society organizations (CSOs) to engage in gender-responsive tax advocacy.
The training provided valuable insights into how current taxation systems in Ghana affect women—particularly those in the informal sector—and highlighted the importance of incorporating gender perspectives in economic policy reforms.
Participants explored key tools for advocacy planning, stakeholder mapping, and evidence-based engagement strategies that align with EWN’s mission to drive equitable policy development and women’s economic empowerment.
The interactive sessions also facilitated collaboration across sectors, encouraging dialogue between CSOs, academia, and union representatives. These cross-sectoral connections will be instrumental in informing EWN’s future advocacy efforts.
Through our participation, EWN has strengthened its capacity to advocate more strategically for inclusive economic policies, and we look forward to applying these learnings to future initiatives and partnerships.
