At the Executive Women Network (EWN), we believe in lifting others as we rise. That belief took powerful root in Tamale on June 17, when EWN officially launched mentorship guideline materials designed to groom 500 young girls across the Northern Region.
The materials — a comprehensive mentorship manual and a personal journal — form the implementation backbone of EWN’s flagship project, EWN ELLEVATE, which was first launched in February 2023. The project is built to inspire, guide, and equip young girls with the confidence, knowledge, and networks they need to step into leadership roles and make informed life choices.
The one-year mentorship programme will benefit students from five second-cycle and tertiary institutions in the region:
– Ambariya Senior High School
– Dabokpa Technical Institute
– Tamale College of Education
– University for Development Studies (UDS)
The mentorship materials cover ten essential thematic areas including Leadership, Self-awareness and emotional intelligence, Goal setting, Career exploration, Financial literacy and entrepreneurship, Health and wellbeing, Communication and presentation skills, and Resilience and adaptability.
The launch drew strong backing from regional education and gender advocates, including Mr. Alhassan Alidu Jnr, Northern Regional Director of Education, Dr. Esther Ekua Amoako from the Centre for Gender and Career Mentorship at UDS, and Hajia Alima Sagito-Saeed, Executive Director of Savannah Women Integrated Development Agency-Ghana.
EWN remains dedicated to nurturing the next generation of female leaders in Ghana through EWN ELLEVATE.
